Operations and Equipment Management Data Delivery

OEM Data Delivery regards the information about your system and its use to be
proprietary, and confidential. We will never disclose any details about systems that
are configured for you. We are gratified, however, that many customers have provided
detailed feedback about our equipment, and what is has helped accomplish.

Here are a few comments we would like to share with you:

Tracking Equipment Assets

"When margins are tight, that’s the best time to implement automated
asset tracking. A good system will improve competitiveness and prevent
lost profits -and put you in an excellent position for the inevitable upturn."

Managing Fuel

“By automating fuel capture, customers know which piece of equipment
is being fueled, which pump is fueling it, how many gallons are being
pumped, which jobsite it’s destined for, what time it was fueled,
and who fueled it.”

Integrating Fuel and Meter Information – Automatically

"Our wireless (OEM Data Delivery) system allows equipment on the
jobsite to communicate with the fuel and lube truck, to transmit both
location and meter information.

Also, the system records (via devices on each piece of equipment and
the fuel & lube truck itself) the amount of fuel and oil dispensed into each piece of equipment.
Upon return to the equipment yard, the fuel & lube truck device automatically uploads this
information into our SAP/Kheops system.

The GPS feature of the (OEM DD) devices allows the monitoring and mapping of
equipment and lube truck location (with date and time stamps) on the OEM website.
This latest version of the OEM fuel management system has been tested here for four
months and proven to be a significant advantage over the palm pilots that are used
elsewhere in our company.

The decision has been made to expand the use of OEM Data Delivery technology
into other divisions."

Problems with Information Accuracy

"We’ve seen field management under-report equipment usage to boost
short-term job profitability. Managers then have to reconcile these differences.
If equipment hours are reported inaccurately over time, this not only skews
our profit picture, but project management and service schedules,
ROI calculations and virtually everything else. The OEM DD system
eliminates all of this."

Sorting Out Technology Options

"Radio, cellular, and RFID each offers advantages in cost and tracking capability.
Seek out a supplier who provides all of these technologies. This will allow you to get
objective input without unnecessary 'bells and whistles' and without feeling shoe-horned
into a 'one size fits all' situation. Also, find a supplier with experience in equipment
specifically suited to the outdoor environment."

Jobsite Management – without a Degree in Finance

"The (OEM DD) system is a way for non-financial people
to work with information to manage jobsites."

Ease of Use

"If you can program a number into a cell phone, you can use the (OEM DD) system.
You can tell it was designed by construction guys, it’s so easy to learn and use.”

D-Bots

"A feature of Service Tracker that let us optimize our information is D-bots.
These custom ‘data robots’ monitor incoming data and generate email alerts.
D-Bots summarize information like operator hours, mechanic hours and the vehicles
involved, fuel transactions and fuel dispensed prior day. Equipment enabled with
D-Bots automatically generates email alerts on services-due. OEM DD D-bots generate
real-time data snapshots, and flag suspect data right away. Suspect data can include
equipment that has not been used in more than 2 weeks, excess fuel consumption for
a specific equipment unit, and equipment missing from inventory."

Fuel-based Maintenance Scheduling

"Maintenance is a key operation that can be tracked with the (OEM DD) system.
When tracked, fuel-based data is the best indicator of how hard the equipment is running
and working. An hour meter shows time used, but the machine could be idle for part
of that time."

Reports that are Truly Useful

“Service Trackers have reduced the time and errors, and made both regulatory and
operations reporting easier. Plus, we have more options for reports. I can see a
‘service due’ report any time. Historical reports – service histories with detailed notations
from mechanics– can also be generated. These allow fleet owners like us to see immediately
where the problems are. One repair won't tell you much, but 'look-back' reports flag the
equipment that needs the most maintenance, so good decisions can be made about repair,
or replacement.”

Workforce Resistance

“When the Service Tracker system was first introduced, we started with six units to get the
OEM concept started. There was some initial resistance by the workforce, but OEM’s
on-site training helped with employee buy-in. ""What will they (management) do with the
information?’
was a question on everyone’s mind. They have seen the benefits, though,
and now the sentiment is, ‘Do we need another Service Tracker to gain better productivity
in this or that area?’
By sharing operations data from the jobsite, we gave them a stake in
the success of the program.”

“The (OEM DD) system was a major step for us: our company is very strict about who
can access our network. But the managers see what we’ve achieved. Now, I can plug into
a computer and understand the maintenance issues without wading through all those
pre and post-equipment inspection forms. I can say ‘I want to see it now,’
click a button and start looking.”
